John G. DiPiano - Partner

Attorney DiPiano is a principal and founding partner of DiPiano Godson LLP.  Attorney DiPiano concentrates his practice in civil litigation, with a focus on Family Law and Probate Litigation.  He is an experienced trial attorney who has been practicing since 1995. 

Attorney DiPiano is a 1988 Graduate of the University of Massachusetts, magna cum laude, where he had a dual major in English and Philosophy.  He is a 1995 graduate of the New England School of Law, cum laude.

Prior to becoming a member of the Massachusetts and U.S. District Court bars, Attorney DiPiano worked for the United States Department of Labor and was hired through the Outstanding Scholar Program.  He then worked for Esdaile, Barett and Esdaile as a law clerk while attending law school.

After graduating from law school, Attorney DiPiano was employed as counsel for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, Child Support Enforcement Division and then went on to private practice with Rosenblum & Studen, P.C.  His practice group merged with Lane Altman & Owens, LLP, and thereafter he established his own practice.

Attorney DiPiano was named a “Rising Star”, one of Boston’s “Top Up and Coming Young Lawyers” by Boston Magazine in 2006.  The designation is determined by other “Super Lawyers” who peer nominate for the honor.

Attorney DiPiano is a member of the University of Massachusetts Club, Massachusetts Bar Association and Justinian Law Society.


Lloyd D. Godson - Partner

Attorney Godson is a principal and founding partner of DiPiano Godson LLP.  Attorney Godson is an experienced Attorney specializing in all aspects of family law, including cases heard at both the trial court and appellate court levels.  Attorney Godson’s practice includes extensive experience in custody, removal, international child custody, divorce, property division, complex property division and asset protection and maximization. 

Attorney Godson is President Elect of the Middlesex County Bar Association.  He was formerly Secretary and Council Member to the Middlesex County Bar Association.  Attorney Godson is also a conciliator through the Middlesex County conciliation program, a pro bono service funded through the Massachusetts Bar Foundation, designed to bring resolution to family law matters through mediation.  Attorney Godson is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Middlesex County Bar Association and Boston Bar Association.

Previously, Attorney Godson served as a member of the Andover Rotary Club, and is the former Chairman of the Londonderry Zoning Board of Adjustment, a board he served on with distinction for eight years.  Attorney Godson is also a former volunteer firefighter.

Attorney Godson was admitted to the bar in Massachusetts in 1992, in the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts in 1993, and the United States Supreme Court in 2004.  He received his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1992.


Anne L. Berger - Of Counsel

Anne L. Berger is a 1967 graduate of Boston University with an A.B. in History and received her Juris Doctor degree in 1970 graduate from Boston University School of Law. Her practice concentrates in complex matrimonial matters.

Attorney Berger has been a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 1987 and a Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 1997. She currently serves as the United States Delegate to the international Academy’s Board of Managers and also serves as a member of the AAML National Foundation Board. She is a past president of the Massachusetts Chapter of the AAML and of the Fourth District Court Bar Association. She is also currently a trustee of the International Conference on Children and Family Relationships Trust and a member of that board’s governing body.

Attorney Berger has written and lectured extensively for professional groups and has co-authored the chapter on Retirement Assets for the MCLE Domestic Relations Practice Series.

Attorney Berger has been in private practice in Massachusetts since 1976.


Elizabeth A. D’Angelo - Of Counsel

Elizabeth A. D’Angelo is a 1980 graduate of Merrimack College with a B.A. in English. In 1989 she received an M.A. from the University of Massachusetts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Attorney D’Angelo taught English as a Second Language at Boston University’s Center for English Language and Orientation Programs from 1987-2007. She received her Juris Doctor degree from New England School of Law in 2007. During Law School, Attorney D’Angelo volunteered as a clerk for the Honorable Elaine M. Moriarty of Suffolk Probate and Family Court.

Attorney D’Angelo has taught in Boston University’s Pre-LLM Program for International Law Students. She has co-authored web materials for Program for Legal English Development (PLEAD), a cooperation between Cambridge University Press, the Boston University School of Law, The Boston University Center for English Language and Orientation Programs and TransLegal.

As a solo practitioner in Essex County from 2008-2010, Attorney D’Angelo specialized in Family Law and has had experience handling divorce, custody, child support, guardianship and adoption cases. In addition to Family Law, she has experience with 93A Consumer Protection Act Cases.

In 2009, Attorney D’Angelo received an award for her pro bono work in the Essex County Bar Associates Lawyer for the Day Program.


Stephanie A. Wittbecker - Associate

Attorney Wittbecker is a 2006 graduate from Northeastern University, where she received her B.A., cum laude, in Communication Studies and a minor certificate in History. She is a 2009 graduate of New England School of Law. During her time at New England School of Law, she served as Senior Editor and Executive Articles Editor on the New England Journal of International and Comparative Law. She also served on the executive board of the Women’s Law Caucus. In addition, Attorney Wittbecker was the recipient of the CALI award for earning the highest grade in Women in the Law course. Attorney Wittbecker also received a New England Scholar award for the 2008-2009 academic year.

During her undergraduate and law school studies, Attorney Wittbecker worked at Pierce & Mandell, P.C. where she focused on civil litigation. During law school, Attorney Wittbecker worked at the Board of Bar Overseers conducting investigations into attorney disciplinary matters. Attorney Wittbecker has also worked at both the Suffolk and Middlesex County Juvenile Courts under Judge Stephen Limon and Judge Jay Blitzman.

Attorney Wittbecker is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association and Phi Alpha Delta.
